or many years I have believed that the key to preserving libraries is to resolve the problems that exist on site.
Ensuring that books are not damaged as part of their daily life, whether by stabilising the environment, encouraging correct handling practice, dealing with passive damage, e.g. incorrect storage, or effecting minor but essential repairs, is my aim.
I am also passionate about communicating and sharing this work with as wide a range of people and institutions as possible, to ensure that our libraries can be used not only by us but by many generations to come.
